Arizona

Last month, we were able to drive 6 hours to Phoenix to spend time with Brett's family for a few days of vacation.  It was a great break from school (although it was right before finals for us) and a great opportunity to spend some quality time with family.  The desert is an interesting landscape and is actually greener, at least this time of year, than you would expect.  We also were able to see quite the variety of animals

A quail roaming near the pool.

I (Brett) saw this coyote on the golf course.  I also saw a bobcat about 30 yards away while golfing, but didn't have the camera ready, so you'll have to take my word for it.

Went to an ostrich farm, and fed these funny looking creatures.

Feeding birds nectar as they hang all over us.
Cortney getting her neck licked by her new friend.

Cortney getting kissed by my uncle's Great Dane.  Animals seem to really like licking her.

We went for a short hike in the Saguaro National Forest in Tuscon.  Here is my brother in law, Jeremy, hugging this huge cactus.
